This is an exceptional opportunity for emergency physicians to practice at one or both hospitals served by group, Saratoga Hospital with an annual patient census of 35,000 visits; and Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, with 24,400 visits. Nathan Littauer is located approximately 30 miles northwest of Saratoga Springs.

The compensation package for this position includes these fully-paid insurances: family health, family dental, group life, group long-term disability, and individual long term disability; plus group short term disability. Other benefits include: paid time off, CME stipend of $4,000, holiday time and hours worked in excess of 180/mo. paid at time-and-a-half, shift differential of an additional hour for night shift; flexible spending account; corporate retirement plan, profit sharing and more. This is the only locally-owned practice in the Capital-Saratoga Region. The Saratoga Emergency Physicians includes a separate hospitalist group, family practice physicians, internists and critical care trained physicians. The group also started a primary care practice in February 2008, comprised of local family practice physicians.
Saratoga Hospital a 171-bed community hospital with a 36-bed attached skilled nursing facility. The hospital offers a complete range of inpatient and outpatient care. The hospital received the highest rating on the last Joint Commission survey. At Saratoga Hospital, nurses recently achieved Magnet re-designation. Magnet status is nursing’s top honor.
The hospital is experiencing overall growth to meet the needs of the community. In the last decade, major construction projects include a cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular laboratory, the Saratoga Surgery Center, The Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology Center, Saratoga Family Physicians, Saratoga Specialty Centers, new 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art emergency department, and new orthopedic unit.
Hospital services include diagnostic imaging services with CT, MRI, ultrasound, x-ray; full service laboratory; The Diagnostic Center (cardiology, vascular and neurological testing); respiratory care; cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular laboratory (diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and peripheral vascular interventions), The Regional Therapy Center (PT, OT and speech therapies), the Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology unit; and pharmaceutical services. The acute care division includes three medical surgical units; C-1 (telemetry and hemodialysis), A-3 (adult medical/surgical and pediatrics), C-3 (orthopedics), and D-3 (new orthopedic unit with private rooms); 14-bed ICCU, 16-bed inpatient mental health unit, women’s health and birthing center; and surgical services (7 ORs, PACU and Same-Day Surgery Unit.)
The Regional Therapy Center moved off-site to a nearby building where PT, OT, Speech therapies are offered along with specialty services including: aquatic PT, hand therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, Ready To Work Services and more.
Wilton Medical Arts, located three miles from the hospital, offers medical imaging: (1.5 tesla wide bore MRI; CT, PET/CT ; complete breast health center with breast MRI and on-site biopsies; DEXA, ultrasound, and x-ray); Laboratory, Urgent Care, and a Regional Therapy Center satellite. Saratoga Family Physicians is located at the far end of the building, housing 11 established family medicine physicians. The hospital also offers primary care at its first three employed-physician practices: Saratoga Family Health, Schuylerville Family Health, and Galway Family Health.
The adjacent Saratoga Surgery Center, offers ambulatory surgery with five operating rooms, two GI suites and a minor surgery room. Hospital-employed physician practices located here include: general and bariatic surgery, endocrinology, pain management and primary care.
Malta Medical Arts offers medical imaging (MRI, CT, US and x-ray); Urgent Care, Laboratory and Corporate Health Services.
The hospital purchased a vacated 140-acre horse farm 9 miles south of Saratoga Springs in Malta, at Exit 12 of Route 87 (The Northway). Plans are underway to build a state-of-the-art medical park with many services under consideration. In collaboration with Albany Medical Center, the hospital plans to build and open a 24-hour urgent care center staffed by board certified emergency physicians, with advanced imaging services and medical office space available. Malta Medical Arts services will move to this site. The medical park is located close to Luther Forest Technology Campus where the GLOBALFOUNDRIES site is under construction. The $ 4.2 billion chip factory that manufactures computer chips from silicon wafers is expected to bring hundreds of families to the region.
Located a half hour from Albany, less than three hours from NYC, Montreal and Boston, Saratoga Springs is a family-centered community offering lovely neighborhoods, and a lively downtown with fine restaurants and specialty shops.
This small city is known for world-class entertainment including thoroughbred horse racing, polo, and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), which is the summer home of the New York City Ballet and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
