The St. Louis Cancer & Breast Institute, a member of St John’s Mercy Health Care, is seeking a fourth breast surgeon.

St. Louis Cancer & Breast Institute is the premier Breast Program in St. Louis.  Opened in 1999, SLCBI was the first free-standing, interdisciplinary program in the region. The philosophy that made the practice succeed and grow to require the services of a fourth fellowship trained breast surgeon is patient-focused care, including integrative medical services.  Currently 3 fellowship-trained breast surgeons and 4 medical oncologists work collaboratively with breast radiologists and radiation oncologists.  The practice will relocate in August 2010, to a new, state-of-the-art, outpatient medical building of 125,000 sq ft. providing the means to deliver fully-integrated care in one location. In the new facility, contiguous to the physicians' office practice, will be breast radiology, diagnostic radiology, (including breast MR), infusion therapy, radiation oncology, laboratory, and pharmacy services. In addition, the building will house a new ambulatory surgery center, primarily for use of the breast surgeons, and a full complement of integrative medical services.

St. Johns Mercy was recently awarded a three-year, full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), administered by the prestigious American College of Surgeons. St. John’s is the first and only breast center in Missouri to receive the designation.
